The Theory behind Alien Liquid Research

Oxidation is the revolution of electrons / KMOD Alien Liquid Research / Infinite Design 360

Oxidation is a natural build up of loose oxygen electrons also known as "free radicals" some of these are attracted to
thermoplastic surfaces. These electrons have a natural negative charge and are drawn to the surface of acrylics in
concentrated amounts when current is passing through the headlight. These electrons will build up on the surface until no
light can come through.  In the process they create an absorbent surface layer that will trap road debris such as gas and oil.
These additional contaminants can degrade the UV layer and turn the oxygenated surface from white to yellow to brown.
Environment and vehicle maintenance has a large part to do with how fast this will happen.
This oxygenated surface solidifies into a hard outer coating.

The low tech way to solve this problem was to use an abrasive or polish to wear the oxidized surface away. The problem with
that approach is that it causes more harm than the oxidation itself. Thermoplastic based headlight lens are hard but they are
covered with a softer thin membrane that serves as a layer of Ultra Violet Light protection. This thin factory installed layer stops
the suns ultra violet light from turning the plastic lenses yellow. Modern acrylic clear coats offer paint the same protection.
Note that there are many names for plastic lenses: Acrylic and Polycarbonate are two other terms used to describe these
lenses. After market abrasive headlight cleaning kits will sometimes offer a sealant to replace the destroyed UV layer. These
sealants are not UV protective and will themselves turn yellow and peel off your lenses in a few months. The heat and light
from the headlight bulb itself will accelerate the process.
Wax is used to substitute a shine when the clear coat on paint has been clouded with scratches
Never use an abrasive cleaner or polish on your acrylic paint or headlight lenses, unless they have already been
compromised with a low tech abrasive cleaners / polishes or have actual surface damage. If you have used abrasives on your
lenses, they will need to be resurfaced with a combination of abrasives methods to make it smooth and usable again.
Abrasives will produce a permanent cloud of scratches on the surface of paint and headlight lenses. Oxidation is easily
removed with a De oxidizer.  

A True Acrylic De oxidizer is a pure liquid non abrasive molecular reactive formula that will remove acrylic oxidation on
contact.
Designed to attract the oxygenated electrons away from Thermoplastic / Acrylic surfaces

it does not require buffing or removal, will not harm the UV layer, clear coat nor can it leave scratches.

Imitation De oxidizers require lots of rubbing. They claim to be non abrasive,  
These imitations include rubbing compounds, plastic polish, wax and toothpaste. All can be used on a variety of surfaces and
all contain abrasive solids. When used on acrylic headlights it will remove oxidation along with the clear surface of the UV layer
and anything else it comes in contact with leaving your lenses clouded with scratches. When used on acrylic paint it removes
layers of clear coat and paint..
OXIDATION DOES NOT CAUSE THE LENS TO TURN YELLOW, OXIDATION IS NOT CAUSED BY UV RAYS

Yellowing is caused by Ultra Violet rays from the sun. With the UV layer intact the rays are effectively blocked from reaching
the lens. The white oxidation which forms on top of the UV layer will turn yellow and brown from a combination of ultra violet
rays and contaminants.
This does not effect the lens below. However once this UV layer is severely damaged or removed the UV rays can reach the
lens and cause it to turn yellow. When this happens there is no recovery.  The yellow will permeate the lens and cause the
lens it's self to turn yellow.  This yellowing is permanent, and your lens will continue to oxidize at an accelerated rate.
Removing the oxidation will not remove the yellow nor can it be sanded or polished away.
When Pittman's One Step ALR is activated there is a molecular reaction within the formula. As molecules begin to react to
each other the formula becomes opaque. The video demonstrates that light will easily pass through transparent unactivated
ALR.
ALR that has been activated becomes opaque and prevents light from passing directly trough. Energy is released within the
bottle as the molecules begin to segregate themselves into their original groupings.
This can be seen as bubbles within the formula begin to rise to the top of the bottle.
This is the energy that oxidation reacts to when it they come in contact with each other. As the molecules segregate
themselves surface oxidation is absorbed within the reaction.
Headlight restoration 101: WHAT THE CAVEMAN WON'T TELL YOU

A. In Internet detail forums the Cavemen will appear out of "No where" and attempt to distract you from understanding
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION.
This is the caveman's nature, he truly does not understand that there is a difference and refuses to learn anything new.

B. The caveman is redundant and predictable,  He will be the one that will have nothing to offer but his outdated opinions.

C. When confused with facts, He will attack you, the product, the company, and when that fails, he will attack the website.
This behaviour is typical of cavemen when they are confronted with things they don't understand or fear, like fire.

D. How do you know when you're talking to a caveman?
Cavemen have no understanding about the effects and formation of oxidation.
Cavemen are over confident about the power of grit.
He will say things like:

"This is what I do, I start out with 400 grit and work my way to 2000 grit and polish and mine look great".

That's caveman talk.
People have been doing that for years and if you look around you can see the damage caveman science has caused. Your car may have been a victim.

E. PITTMAN ALR  produces the only product on the market designed to preserve acrylic surfaces.

There are numerous products on the market that clean using an abrasive restoration process of polishing. Buffing, sanding, grinding and multiple steps.
Some times hours worth of work, creating UV layer and surface damage in the process.
Guess what, Oxidation is a naturally occurring event, it will return in time.  You will need to clean your lens again.

Think of the time you will spend repeating the job think of the condition of the surface of your lens after a second abrasive cleaning and in most cases, you
have to buy another "cleaning kit", with each application causing more and more damage.
There is no one time fix.

Once you start sanding and grinding on your headlight, there is no turning back,

you will be trapped in a vicious never ending cycle of Caveman Science and due to your own efforts you will eventually be forced to replace them.
