SOME FORUMS SAY THAT THE OLD BUFFING AND WAXING METHOD IS THE ONLY WAY TO FIX WORN PAINT
THESE ARE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO TELL YOU TO USE ABRASIVES TO REMOVE OXIDATION FROM YOUR HEADLIGHTS. THINK ABOUT IT. HOW DO YOU FIX ACRYLIC PAINT WITH FRICTION AND WAX? WHAT PART OF THE PROCESS TURNS WAX INTO PAINT?
WAX IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE WAX AND THE PAINT DAMAGE STILL EXISTS BENEATH THE WAX. THE FORUMS THAT PROMOTE THIS PROCESS HAVE AN AGENDA THE ARE LOADED WITH SPONSORS WHO SELL WAX. BUFFING WAX IS NOT GOING TO CHEMICALLY CHANGE IT INTO ACRYLIC PAINT.
THE FINISH PRODUCT IS COSMETIC, LITERALLY, MAKEUP NOT UNLIKE THE KIND SOLD AT COSMETIC COUNTERS. THE OLD PAINT IS STILL OLD PAINT AND THE AMOUNT OF WORK NEEDED TO APPLY THIS MAKE UP IS EXCESSIVE.
MODERN ANALYSIS REVEALS SERIOUS FLAWS IN THAT DAMAGING ARCHAIC INEFFICIENT PROCESS ON MODERN ACRYLIC PAINTS.
COMMON SENSE DICTATES THAT THERE IS NO RENEWING OR FIXING PAINT WITH WAX PRESERVATION OF THE ORIGINAL FINISH IS THE DESIGN PURPOSE OF VAPORWAX ACRYLIC PAINT CONDITIONER

HOW LONG DOES PITTMAN ORIGINAL OneStep ALR LAST?
OneStep ALR DESIGN FUNCTION IS TO INSTANTLY REMOVE ACRYLIC OXIDATION FROM HEADLIGHTS, VAPORWAX APC IS DESIGNED TO PRESERVE FACTORY FINISH AND PREVENT ACRYLIC OXIDATION. One Step ALR and VaporWax APC WILL NOT EVAPORATE OR LOOSE THEIR UNIQUE ABILITY BOTH PRODUCTS HAVE AN UNLIMITED SHELF LIFE, THEY CAN BE STORED VIRTUALLY FOREVER
Oxidation is a naturally re-occurring event. Once you remove oxidation, it will continue to form, the time it takes for the oxidation to return can be from 6 mths to 2 years depending the condition of the lens surface and your vehicles operating environment. The average cleaning will normally last about a year. We recommend periodic treatment of the lens with VaporWax APC 360ID to prevent oxidation from returning permanently.
The ALR APC 360ID is a complete deoxidizer and preventive system. One Step ALR will effectively remove oxidation on contact and VaporWax APC will prevent oxidation from returning while conditioning and leaving a shine on your headlights.
WE RECOMMEND THE ALR APC 360ID COMPLETE SYSTEM FOR LONG TERM MAINTENANCE. VaporWax APC 360ID IS THE OPTIMUM ACRYLIC CONDITIONING TREATMENT AFTER DEOXIDATION After cleaning your headlights the surface of some lens can be left in a more permeable condition exposed to re contamination. VaporWax will condition the lens surface and create an impermeable barrier to most contaminants.

Should I wash my car before or after using OneStep ALR?
Before or after is OK, however for best results, headlight must be dry when applying One Step ALR. Wax, varnish or after market sealants will hinder th process by creating physical damage or contaminate the surface. ALR is not designed to remove these applications from the headlight on contact. Water should not be put immediately on the lens after applying ALR. Allow the surface ample time to dry before any additional actions.
I used a polish to clean my lens previously, will OneStep ALR still work for me?
One Step will remove oxidation in all circumstances, however it cannot replace areas of the surface worn away or damaged by polish.
Should I use wax as a sealer on my headlights after cleaning them?
No. Wax will only melt off the headlights and create a yellowed surface worse than oxidation. Heat is a problem for all after market sealers. We recommend using VaporWax APC as a preservative on your headlights. It will keep a shine and resist the return of oxidation.
I recently restored my headlights with OneStep ALR. They look much better now but not like new should I reapply One Step?
No. OneStep will remove ALL oxidation during the first application, the newly exposed surface will vary with each lens. If it is not worn and there is no damage, the lens will look like new at the first application, if the surface is worn or damaged, it will show an improvement but cannot look new with obvious physical wear. Never apply more than one drop at a time. More is not better. Lens saturation can cause a clouding effect. The clouding can be removed with a correct reapplication of One Step.
I have very minor scratches on my headlights will ALR fill them?
No. ALR is not a common filler or sealer. It is an Acrylic Deoxidizer, unique in the market today
I cleaned my lens with an abrasive headlight kit but it's still yellow. Will OneStep help?
No. When your lens turn yellow it is because the UV layer has been removed and the sun has caused the plastic lens to yellow. This yellow is permanent it is not oxidation.
The directions say use one drop. How can one drop cover an entire headlight wouldn't it be better to start with much more?
No. When you don't follow instructions you will not get the desired results. One Step reacts at the molecular level. It is not a soap that should be lathered on. In most cases one drop on a paper towel is all that is needed to deoxidize the headlights. Using more or cloth towel is not only wasteful but it can produce a whitish film on the headlights once the excess formula drys. A correct reapplication will remove this film.
Oxidation seems to have formed in layers and patches on my headlights will OneStep fix this?
No. Oxidation does not form in layers or patches. Oxidation forms evenly as a thin film which usually starts at the top of the lens. The layers and patches you speak of is actually the damaged UV layer, caused in most cases by an abrasive headlight cleaner like those sold in most American automotive stores.
The oxidation seems to have formed on the inside of my headlight will OneStep ALR help?
No. Oxidation does not form on the inside of your headlight. You may have debris from a blown bulb or moisture but you will not see oxidation form there. Oxidation can only form on the outside of the lens surface.
I read in a car care forum that washing with soap and water is all headlights need to remain clear. Can this be true.
Common sense dictates that if that was true oxidation would not be a problem. That suggest that people somehow wash their cars without washing the headlights.
There are several headlight kits on the market whats the difference between them?
Very little. Sandpaper is sandpaper no matter which caveman you buy it from. It all has a non reversible destructive effect on the headlight lens surface and all low tech abrasive sandpaper kits and polish require an excessive amount of work. One difference is some offer sealers which are a necessary visual component once you cloud the lens with scratches from abrasive systems.
I read in some car forum to use sandpaper grit in 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 and finish off with polish is the only way to remove oxidation.
You will remove a lot more than oxidation using that out dated method and you will create a lot of work and mess, You will destroy the UV protective surface of your headlights. If your intention is to resurface then yes you will use abrasive polish and power tools. If your intention is to remove oxidation the last thing you want to put on your expensive headlights is cheap sandpaper wet or dry no matter what grit.
The yellow oxidation is still on my headlight after deoxidizing WHY?
Oxidation does not cause the lens to turn yellow. Yellowing is caused by Ultra Violet rays from the sun. With the UV layer intact the rays are effectively blocked from reaching the lens. The white oxidation which forms on top of the UV layer will turn yellow and brown. This does not effect the lens below. However once this UV layer is severely damaged or removed the UV rays can reach the lens and cause it to turn yellow. When this happens there is no recovery. The yellow will permeate the lens. This yellowing is permanent.

I see VaporWax advertised for black cars, will it work on other colors?
VaporWax works on all colors, but its impact on black paint has a high visibility factor because of blacks unique ability to reflect colored light.
Which cleaner is best to prep my car before conditioning it?
Typically brand name cleaners are designed to remove that brands wax. They are not always as effective on other waxes. We recommend common dish washing liquid as the best all around cleaner to prep your vehicle with. Dish washing liquid is safe to use on plastic, metal and glass. Acrylic paint and clear coat are basically plastics. . Do you have to remove VaporWax after so many applications like wax?
No Unlike wax VaporWax does not create an unsightly build up nor does it have to be removed. VaporWax will gradually wear off from natural exposure to the elements just like paint but at a faster rate. It allows the paint to keep elements that give it, its shine by vaporizing into the paint and giving up its own electrons in place of those that normal exposure to the elements take from paint. In essence it works like a sun screen for paint.

Will they work on my light bar?
Yes it will, light bars are formed out of the same thermoplastic base as all other translucent lens in your vehicle. Light bars will oxidize over the surface and dull the intensity of the strobe. ALR will deoxidize them as easily as it will headlights and tail lights and APC will prevent oxidation from returning
People have always told me waxing a car is the best way to protect the paint, How can it be bad now?
Wax serves its purpose in many instances but it does more harm than good on modern acrylic paint. You only have to look closely at a car that has a few years of waxing on it and you can see the damage in spider web scratches and swirl marks in the paint. Once you take the wax off a car you see the dulling effects the application of wax has left on the paint Now you find that without wax the paint looks horrible, How did this happen? Repetitious friction based motion of rubbing on wax, letting it dry. Rubbing off harden wax will do it every time. Old fashion enamel could take the rubbing and polish but modern acrylic has a unique shine that is millimeters thin and cannot be duplicated by any after market method. The mirror like shine of acrylic paint needs to be preserved. Wax is not a preservative its an obsolete cover up. Each application of wax will further damage the factory finish on your vehicle. This fact has not escaped the major wax companies as they have been producing alternatives to wax for years now.

I have several coats of wax on my car, would it be ok to put the VaporWax on the wax or do I have to remove the wax?
VaporWax needs to be applied directly to the paint. The directions stress that the car must be clean, that means no wax or other contaminant on the surface. Wax will become gummy and tacky if sprayed with VaporWax. VaporWax will dissolve natural wax The surface of your vehicle should be squeaky clean to the touch. VaporWax will create a protective barrier of Conditioner on the surface of the paint.

We get a lot of rain, I like to touch my car up every day, can I put VaporWax on my car after washing with clear water?
Yes you can, and you can do it every day, but for best results you should: Remove dust on the paint first. After the initial application of VaporWax a soft damp clean cloth will effectively remove any dust that accumulated on your car . Turn towel frequently as it accumulates dust as not to rub the dust across the rest of the vehicle. Always start at the top and work your way down to to the bottom, Your towel will stay cleaner longer. Spray a little VaporWax on a clean towel and quick detail the car. Use this method to avoid getting VaporWax on Glass windows. This method is also best when applying VaporWax on a Hot Vehicle. For best results spray VaporWax directly on the paint only after washing and drying the car. After the initial application of VaporWax, touch ups require very little VaporWax or effort. Touch ups are quick and beneficial to the paint, and will maintain a showroom shine.

Will VaporWax protect my chrome wheels too? VaporWax is the ideal treatment for chrome wheels in areas where snow and salt are a problem. Clean and dry chrome wheels. Apply generous amount to chrome and use a soft bristled paint brush to spread VaporWax evenly over the chrome surface. Leave this layer of protection on the wheels. Will VaporWax make Rain water bead like wax?
No VaporWax will not make water bead like wax.
VaporWax has a unique beading system that prevents Rain water from creating spots on the paint.
VaporWax will cause rain water to create large rolling beads that rolls off the car while it breaks down smaller beads into smaller and smaller irregular shaped beads until they dissipate.
Rain water will not spot when left to dry on VaporWax.
Due to additives in tap water, Tap water will spot if left to dry on VaporWax, However the spots are very easily removed with a damp cloth

What is the difference between an acrylic sealant and acrylic conditioner.
An acrylic sealant is just a new catch name for old products, Don't be fooled. Since VaporWax Acrylic Paint Conditioner appeared, a lot of wax sellers are using the word acrylic in the description of their products. There is no comparison of any companies acrylic sealant with VaporWax acrylic paint conditioner. We are the only company to produce a 100% pure liquid acrylic paint conditioner. These other products are primarily paint sealers. glazes and polishes. They have been around for decades. There is nothing new about these renamed acrylic sealants, they consists of the same old formulas

Why does VaporWax cost more than wax, I can get a 16oz bottle of wax for less 1/2 oz of VaporWax. VaporWax is not wax, It is a new generation acrylic paint conditioner. A 100% pure liquid, non abrasive, non organic formula unique in the market. VaporWax APC 360ID is Target Specific which is 90% percent more efficient than wax, there is virtually no waste. Waste is inherent with the application of wax. Residue in your applicator, buffing towel or pad, clothes and worst of all in the folds and crevices of your vehicle. Add all that waste up and you will find, that 90% of the wax you put on your car does not stay on the car. It is actually a very thin layer that remains when you get finish buffing the dry wax off the car.
I applied VaporWax to my car it looks kind of hazy or smeared. You applied TOO MUCH VaporWax, When applying VaporWax it should be spread across the surface of the vehicle until it disappears. VaporWax is not a wax and should not be applied like wax,It only takes a thin film of VaporWax to condition your paint.
I applied VaporWax to my car for the first time, it does not shine as it should and feels sticky whats wrong? A common mistake in the initial application of VaporWax is applying it over a waxed surface. There can be NO WAX on the car when you apply VaporWax, Wax and VaporWax will not mix. VaporWax will de solve wax. Hot water and dish washing liquid is the safest method for removing wax.
Claying is obsolete. Unlike organic wax, VaporWax does not harden and has powerful cleaning agents that remove contaminants as it conditions the paint, leaving it silky smooth with no residue and no film to trap and hold particles. VaporWax never dulls and it never has to be removed..
With VaporWax over 90% of formula ends up on your paint, A small percentage ends up in your towel. There is no hardening or chalky residue. This means the same towel used to apply VaporWax APC can be used for touch ups and light dusting's with excellent results. The shine is instant and it performs beyond the capability of wax. VaporWax always produces an effortless brilliant mirror like shine. It is both water proof and provides rust resistance and it does not dull or smear like wax.
