HOW LONG DOES PITTMAN ORIGINAL ONE STEP ALR LAST? Once you remove oxidation from your headlights, the time it takes for the oxidation to return can be from 1 to two years depending on your vehicles operating environment. The average cleaning will normally last more than a year. The periodic treatment of the lens with APC 360ID will prevent oxidation from returning permanently. Should I wash my car before or after using One Step ALR? Before or After is OK, however for best results, headlight must be dry when applying One Step ALR. Water should not be put immediately on the lens after applying ALR. Allow the surface ample time to dry before any additional actions. I used a polish to clean my lens previously, will One Step ALR still work for me? One Step will remove oxidation in all circumstances, However it cannot replace areas of the surface worn away or damaged by polish. Should I use wax as a sealer on my headlights after cleaning them? No. Wax will only melt off the headlights and possibly collect at the bottom of the lens and turn yellow. The heat is a problem for all after market sealers. We recommend using VaporWax APC as a preservative on your headlights. It will keep a shine and resist the return of oxidation. I recently restored my headlights with One Step ALR. They look much better now but not like new should I reapply One Step? No. One Step will remove ALL oxidation during the first application, the newly exposed surface will vary with each lens. If it is not worn and there is no damage, the lens will look like new at the first application, if the surface is worn or damaged, it will show an improvement but cannot look new with obvious physical wear. Never apply more than one drop at a time. More is not better. Lens saturation can cause a clouding effect. The clouding can be removed with a correct reapplication of One Step. I cleaned my lens with an abrasive headlight kit but its still yellow will One Step help? No. When your lens turns yellow it is because the UV layer has been removed and the sun has caused the plastic lens to yellow . This yellow is permanent it is not oxidation. The directions say use one drop. How can one drop cover an entire headlight wouldn't it be better to start with much more? No. When you don't follow instructions you will not get the desired results. One Step reacts at the molecular level. It is not a soap that should be lathered on. In most cases One drop is all that is needed to deoxidize the headlights. Using more is not only wasteful but it will produce a whitish film on the headlights once the excess formula drys. A correct reapplication will remove this film. Oxidation seems to have formed in layers and patches on my headlights will One Step fix this? Oxidation does not form in layers or patches. Oxidation forms evenly as a thin film which usually starts at the top of the lens. The layers and patches you speak of is actually the damaged UV layer, caused in most cases by an abrasive headlight cleaner like those sold here on Ebay. There are several headlight kits on the market whats the difference between them? Very little. Sandpaper is sandpaper no matter which caveman you buy it from. It all has a non reversible destructive effect on the headlight lens surface and all low tech abrasive sandpaper kits and polish require an excessive amount of work. One difference is some offer sealers which are a necessary visual component once you cloud the lens with scratches from abrasive systems. I bought the One Step ALR single vial for my headlights, what it the difference between it and ALR/APC360ID? The 360ID is a complete deoxidizer and preventive system. On Step ALR will effectively remove oxidation on contact and VaporWax APC will prevent oxidation from returning while leaving a shine on your headlights.

WILL IT WORK ON MY LIGHT BAR? Yes it will, light bars are formed out of the same thermoplastic base as all other translucent lens in your vehicle. Light bars will oxidize over the surface and dull the intensity of the strobe. ALR will deoxidize them as easily as it will headlights and tail lights and APC will prevent oxidation from returning People have always told me waxing a car is the best way to protect the paint, How can it be bad now? Wax serves its purpose in many instances but it has no place on modern acrylic paint. You only have to look closely at a car that has a few years of waxing on it and you can see the damage in spider web scratches and swirl marks in the paint. Once you take the wax off a car you see the dulling effects the application of wax has left on the paint Now you find that without wax it looks horrible, How did this happen? Repetitious friction based motion of rubbing on wax, letting it dry. Rubbing off harden wax will do it every time. Old fashion enamel could take the rubbing and polish but modern acrylic has a unique shine that is millimeters thin and cannot be duplicated by any after market method. The mirror like shine of acrylic paint needs to be preserved. Wax is not a preservative its an obsolete cover up. Each application of wax will further damage the factory finish on your vehicle.

I see VaporWax advertised for black cars, will it work on other colors? VaporWax works on all colors, but its impact on black paint has a high visibility factor because of blacks unique ability to reflect colored light. Do you have to remove VaporWax after so many applications like wax? No Unlike wax VaporWax does not create an unsightly build up nor does it have to be removed. VaporWax will gradually wear off from natural exposure to the elements just like paint but at a faster rate. It allows the paint to keep elements that give it, its shine by vaporizing into the paint and giving up its own electrons in place of those that normal exposure to the elements take from paint. In essence it work like a sun screen for paint.
Why does VaporWax cost more than wax, I can get a 16oz bottle of wax for less 1/2 oz of VaporWax. VaporWax is not wax it is an acrylic paint conditioner. A new generation product unique in the market. VaporWax APC 360ID is 90% percent more efficient than wax, there is virtually no waste. Waste is inherent with the application of wax. Residue in your applicator, buffing towel or pad, clothes and worst of all in the folds and crevices of your vehicle. Add all that waste up and you will find, that 90% of the wax you put on your car does not stay on the car. It is actually a very thin layer that remains when you get finish buffing the dry wax off the car. With VaporWax over 90% ends up on your car, A small percentage ends up in your towel. There is no hardening residue. The shine is instant and it performs beyond the capability of wax. VaporWax always produces an effortless even mirror like. It is both water proof and rust resistant and it does not dull like wax. The application towel can be used repeatedly each time you wash your vehicle with no ill effects. In addition VaporWax takes a fraction of the time it takes to just to apply wax, Which leaves you more time to enjoy your vehicle from the inside.
